The traditional market of Sant’Ambrogio is very popular with tourists and Florentines alike. Here you can shop for quality products of the Tuscan tradition on sale every morning: meat, fish, fruit and vegetables, pulses, fresh bread and anything else in the way of food. Then, in the nearby Piazza Annigoni, there is an interesting flea market displaying antiques and artigianato Florentine artefacts. You can also browse among chandeliers, tea sets, cutlery, furniture, prints, books and costume jewellery: objects handed down from a recent or long-forgotten past on sale every Sunday at the various antique markets around the city:

  • 2nd Sunday of the month: Piazza di Santo Spirito
  • 3rd Sunday of the month: Fortezza Da Basso
  • 4th Sunday of the month: Piazza dei Ciompi
